About Move Ready

Move Ready is a small independent site that makes moving checklists you set up for your own move, instead of one fixed list that says "8 weeks before" to everyone.

Each checklist is written by hand from common moving situations. On the timeline checklists you enter your move date and the page works out the calendar date of every task. Where a list shows a quantity, such as how many boxes for a home of your size, it is computed from the number you enter by a simple rule. The same rules run when the page is built and in your browser, so what you see is what the site calculated.

Quantities are estimates, not measurements. Homes with the same number of bedrooms hold very different amounts, so treat box counts and timings as a starting point and adjust them to what you own.

The checklists are general. They cannot know your lease, your building's rules, your mover's terms or the official procedures where you live: check those with your landlord, your mover and the organisations themselves.

There are no invented authors, reviews or ratings on this site. If something on a page is wrong, tell us and it is fixed.
